Sweden-born dramaturg, translator and literary enthusiast currently based in London.
In February 2022 I started @bexandthebooks, a ‘bookstagram’ account where I share my thoughts on what I’ve been reading and engage with a wider community of readers. I’ve always been a bookworm but a busy life meant I did not manage to make time for reading. I refound that love and the time for it during the pandemic (at least something good came out of lockdown). This blog will be an extension of my bookstagram, a place I have created so that I can share longer pieces and more in depth analysis of the literature I engage with.

I have an academic background in literature and theatre with and MA in Theatre Criticism and Dramaturg and an undergraduate degree in Literature and Theatre Studies. I like the literary side of theatre and the theatrics of literature. I love reading a plethora of genres but mostly focus on classics, contemporary literary fiction, plays and in terms of non-fiction my interests are in philosophy, aesthetics, general literary/cultural theory and translation or theatre studies. I am bilingual and read in both Swedish and English but also love reading translated fiction. I am always on the lookout for structural innovation and new ways of telling stories, in novels and on stage.
Lastly, I also wanted a space where I can share my book drawings, little doodles to visually represent the reading I have done or plan to do. I have collected my works in a portfolio under the Illustration sections of this blog so please have a look. I also take commissions for anyone looking to either commemorate their favourite novels or give a very personal gift to a fellow book worm. Leave a comment or message me on Instagram if you would like to know more.
